We believe wood shouldn't become waste just because someone is finished with it.

Wood Rescue is a circular wood products manufacturer based in Kitchener, Ontario. We rescue usable wood that would otherwise be discarded and turn it into products that businesses, organizations and events can actually use. From awards and promotional products to signage, event pieces, hospitality products and custom projects, we find new ways to put rescued wood back to work.

Why Wood Rescue?

Every year, huge amounts of usable wood are discarded through construction, renovation, demolition, manufacturing and other activities. Much of it still has plenty of life left in it. We started Wood Rescue because we saw an opportunity to do something different: keep more of that material in circulation by turning it into something useful, well-made and worth keeping.

Making sustainability tangible

For a business or organization, choosing rescued wood can be about more than the material itself. It's an opportunity to replace a conventional product with something that has a story behind it. A custom award made from rescued wood, a restaurant menu board made from material that would have been discarded, branded event tokens made from local wood waste, or signage that gives a space a distinctive look while reducing the need for newly manufactured materials. These products give our customers something useful while providing a tangible way to share their sustainability efforts with their own customers and communities. That's why our products can include our β€œMade from wood waste diverted from the landfill” stamp, a simple way to show the story behind the material.

From rescued wood to finished product

We have a fully equipped woodworking shop with laser cutting, laser engraving and CNC capabilities, allowing us to work with a wide range of materials and ideas. We can help take a project from an initial idea through design, production and finishing. Whether you know exactly what you want or just know that you'd like to find a more sustainable way to make it, we're happy to explore the possibilities.

We're nature enthusiasts inspired by those who have piloted innovative wood circularity systems in other North American cities. We're thankful to those who have led in this area and seek to be part of the solution. Wood waste represents one of the most significant waste categories by volume. Now more than ever, we need to celebrate and embrace Canadian-grown wood. Join us?
